How does this impact your understanding of the novel?
‘The second is that Asperger’s is a very broad definition and I don’t think there’s such a thing as ‘true’ picture of someone with Asperger’s, any more than there is a ‘true’ picture of a musician or a Norwegian. The third was put most succinctly by a good friend of mine who said, “It’s not a novel about a boy with Asperger’s, is it. It’s a book about a young mathematician with some behavioural issues.‘
